Learning to Transmute Desires, Part IV

BruceManakaArt

What do I mean by the “underlying vibration” of the body? When sitting in meditation pose, the mind can easily focus upon the overall sensation of the body. Now, with the intention to feel slightly deeper into subtle vibrations, the overall sensation of the body can be felt as a “wave” or “field” of vibration.

This is a delicate balance point, during which the mind, if it does not “get” the importance or significance of continuing to feel into finer and finer vibrations, may lose the connection and momentum to experience the primal “magnetic/contorting” flow of Life Force that lies just below the surface of our familiar states of consciousness.

By going slightly deeper into subtle sensations, there is a visceral experience of exquisitely fine forces at play in our bodies and especially in the spine. The paradox is that, in my opinion, it doesn’t require years and years of meditation practice or any superhuman feats of concentration.

However, in my experience, I spent years and years in meditation practice without making deep connection with the subtle Life Force (Kundalini) because I did not truly “get” the importance of feeling deeper and deeper into seemingly insignificant sensations…until they resolved to the overall resonance of the body.

My mind was busy with meditation practice/technique…disconnected from truly feeling deeply. Of course, the purpose of meditation technique is to connect the awareness with subtle vibrations/sensations and the Divine Spirit…but in looking back at my “practice,” I realize now that I created a thin “veil” that insulated me from feeling deeply.

Perhaps it was not so much a problem of meditation technique, but rather my non-consideration of feeling deeply. I believe there was also an issue of my “day-to-day” mind and habitual patterns that stayed within bounds of what was familiar and safe, no matter how much and how long I meditated.

I am also very much aware that it is not enough to instruct myself or anyone else to “feel deeper and deeper” into subtle vibrations. The connecting piece, the “Aha!” moment occurs when you truly “get” and viscerally feel that any sensation (no matter how seemingly insignificant) can be felt in relation to a wider and wider vibration or resonance of feeling. There is also a noticing of how the mind will automatically go into trance states…that focuses upon finer and finer vibrations/sensations.

Focusing Mind for Deeper Meditations, Part I

Wherever you are, in whatever circumstance, let the mind focus quickly within, not waiting for the meditation environment to be perfect. It is helpful to keep the eyes relaxed, quiet, still, in soft focus (if you keep the eyes open or half-closed).

Notice that as you focus the mind inwardly and feel into the area of the eyes, there may be a natural uplift of the eyes in the eye sockets.

There is a subtle point being made here: with too much will/intention to keep the eyes focused at the point between the eyebrows (spiritual eye), as suggested in many meditation techniques, there can be a greater possibility of giving ourselves a headache…at least this was the case for me.

In trying to concentrate my attention at the spiritual eye area, I found myself unwittingly using too much energy and will, resulting in headaches.

I discovered that by by the simple intention to keep the eyes still, relaxed, with intention/prayer to focus upon the overall sensation of the body and spine, the eyes would naturally and automatically be drawn upwards, allowing deeper and deeper attunement with the subtleties of the Life Force, and ultimately with the Bliss Resonance.

The sensation of the uplifting/rising Life Force/Kundalini can be experienced initially by feeling into the meditation posture of the erect spine…but with a slightly exaggerated lifting up and straightening of the spine.

The “trick” is in feeling into the subtlety of the overall sensation. What happens is that as the mind focuses on the subtlety of vibration in the body, a feeling of giddiness may arise, as the energy in the spine builds up to a point of overflow.

The body will adjust to the giddiness naturally, in slight “micro-movements”…if we allow ourselves to relax and surrender to the process, which then becomes a beautiful dance of fine movements. The body will also take up certain postures naturally and automatically.

Outwardly, these fine movements and postures may outwardly appear as a kind of isotonic and isometric contraction/relaxation exercise.

However, what happens inwardly cannot be seen, as the movements are so very subtle…affected by the rise and fall of infinitely fine energetic currents as can be felt in the spine.

An important point to consider here is that the micro movements and postures are guided by how the Life Force/Kundalini wishes to move/dance in the body.

The process is not difficult and does not require strict mental/physical discipline…at least not in the way one might think. Connecting with the Bliss Resonance requires only an intention/prayer to feel where we are in the moment…and then feeling slightly deeper…and then deeper, etc.

Do you understand what is being offered here? The mind might resist the simplicity of this approach, unable to countenance how very close it is to what the soul longs for: the Bliss Resonance!

Alas, for want of feeling just beneath the surface of sensations, what is so very close and accessible (Bliss) remains interminably beyond reach!

Again, do not tarry on the surface of mind! Go deep quickly, relax and feel! The mind will continue to “bounce” around and that’s totally ok. What is important is noticing the fleeting moments, even if for a fraction of a second, when the mind is still, not entertaining memories, desires, distractions, etc.

In noticing those fleeting moments of “no-thought” you then have reference points, entryways into connecting ever-deeper with the subtleties of the Life Force.

Understand the enormity of what previously may have seemed like a “non-event.” Tuning into that “fraction of a second” of finer and finer vibrations/sensations means a vastly different relationship with Life Force…and with sense of Self!

No matter how fleeting the experience of connecting with subtlety is, a permanent entryway is created, to go deeper into subtlety…as well as for longer periods! This “permanent” entryway is simply the feeling experience, the overall sensation/resonance of the moment, as felt in the central core of the body.

When the focus is on subtle sensation, there can be a noticing of how the mind can be, in a sense, “captured” or “held” in place (one-pointed concentration), by the “current” of Life Force.

Here’s what happens: as the mind focuses on the subtle sensations and begins to go deeper, layer by layer, the visceral experience of subtle vibrations creates a kind of “giddiness” in the body (especially the spine). This giddiness can be felt as a “current” or “flow” of energy that is strong enough to “capture” the mind, to “hold” it in one place.

Kundalini Divine Nectar, Part III

Any position/posture of the body can be explored to infinite nuance of sensations…and by relaxing and surrendering to the fine vibrations/currents moving through the body, the Divine Dance of micro movements is activated. There is then a noticing of the body moving/dancing, adjusting automatically to the rise and fall of energy.

As the mind/attention focuses upon the current, there is also a noticing of how the mind is drawn inwardly, as though “captured” by the current. It is important to notice and acknowledge the dynamics of what happens when the mind focuses upon subtle sensations, upon the inner current of Life Force.

Another way of thinking about how the mind can be “captured,” is to understand and experience the mind going into trance when using repetition and rhythm…such as when chanting or singing; or when losing oneself in dance.

Ordinarily we don’t pay much attention to what happens when the mind gets drawn into repetitive drumming, or when we surrender ourselves in dance; or when going on long runs. However, if there is an intention to witness the body/mind/psyche going into trance, then the experience of noticing subtle shifts of awareness becomes an open pathway where each subtlety of sensation is like a “breadcrumb” leading to the next subtlety of sensation.

Medicine Song, Dance of Life Force in the Body, Part IV

There are reverberations, echoes of fine sensations that can be felt in what might ordinarily be thought of as mundane, everyday actions: yawning, sneezing…and other body functions. And it is because these functions are so “everyday” we do not pay much attention to the subtle sensations that move deeply within.

The simple noticing and mindfulness of the moment can easily be waylaid by a mind that is hypnotically caught in its default patterns of “surface” living, disconnected from the subtle currents of the Life Force.

There are endless reverberations that can be felt in the simple yawn. The body knows how to move/adjust to the energetic wave of a yawn…or sneeze, etc. The invitation here is to tune into their ongoing vibrations…reverberations/echoes that continue on and on.

Why would you do this? What’s the big deal? The mind that is caught in its default pattern of its everyday world resists exploring the subtleties of what is suggested here…because it is a resonance/vibration that it is not accustomed to or familiar with.

The mind can be like a runaway train that moves along its tracks with a certain momentum…and to have it move in a different direction is resisted by that same momentum that it created over a lifetime.

Again, “Why would you do this (to connect with subtle vibrations)?” The offering here is that this simple effort can serve as a way to “short-circuit” the mind that is trapped on the runaway train, caught on rails of surface living, unconscious of its connection with the subtle Life Force.

By connecting even once with the subtle reverberations, there is an awakening to the underlying resonance, the “Hum” that imparts the experience of Bliss!

Tuning Into the Subtlety of Sensations, Part II

With just a little bit of introspection, we can observe in our lives how easily it is for the mind to be “captured” by distractions of habits, thought patterns, addictions, anger, moodiness, desires, likes/dislikes, etc.

Conversely, habits of mind also makes it easy for us to go through our day-to-day activities…and it can even make difficult tasks easy to do. The power of the mind to create patterns and habits that benefit our lives is a great positive in our lives.

In our day-to-day life, our “normal,” default existence is governed by habit patterns (both helpful and detrimental) formed over a lifetime. As for the detrimental patterns, it is easy to feel helpless in the face of what may seem like uncontrollable forces at work, keeping us enslaved to the very habits/patterns that we ourselves created, allowing the powers of mind to create the very patterns/habits that we now decry.

Is there a way to understand and utilize these powers in ways that are more in alignment with our Higher Selves? Understand that underneath the activity/movement of mind there is an underlying vibration/hum out of which arises the mind. This vibration can be felt as a sensation that draws the mind’s attention deeply within. This sensation, when followed to its point of subtlety in the spine, also connects the awareness with what feels like a vast resonance that surrounds the energetic field of the body, the very life force of creation.

There is no difficulty in experiencing the subtlety of life force. Sometimes it is just a mere lack of considering or acknowledging the sensitivity that we already have. We’ve grown comfortable with the patterns and habits of our default existence and do not consider that there are infinite subtleties and nuances that can be easily felt/experienced…if only we allowed ourselves to do so!

By simply noticing and following the overall sensations of the body to their point of subtlety, we begin to feel an underlying vibration that naturally draws the mind/attention deeply within…and by its very nature is blissful.

It is this “Hum” of Creation, the Bliss Resonance that can hold the mind in the “vice-grip” of rapture, in the energetic contortion that is created in the body.

Third Eye Opening Symptoms

img_0501

When entering the visionary state (third eye opening), a very wide range of dimensions/realms become available to our awareness, some that are beatific beyond imagination, along with demonically horrid ones as well.

In the beginning, when entering those realms, we do not necessarily know how to navigate those worlds. Dark, negative entities can be quite intrusive and “in your face” so-to-speak. Our “toolbox” of spiritual techniques that we’ve gathered in our daily, 3d lives, help us to a certain degree when entering the visionary state, but cannot prepare us fully for the actual entry into those realms.

There have been times when I’ve been totally freaked out by the hideous places and beings that intruded into my consciousness. It seems to me that in order to ascend to the higher states of Being/Awareness, one must also pass through a kind of “Dark night of the Soul” realm of utter darkness, horror, etc.

As much as I’ve made intention to go straight to the light/love/higher vibration, it seems that I still had to go through the darker realms…as though it was a kind of “rite of passage.”

Note: Most of the demons/entities do not have so much power. All it takes is to keep the attention at the spiritual eye/light. However, there are certain very powerful demons/entities that seem to have the power to extract our memory of calling for the help of our Higher Self, Angelic Guides, Spirit, etc. This is where Grace comes in.

Our Spirit protectors come to our aid when we have lost ourselves to these very powerful entities. Having the experience of this level of Grace gives us a depth of gratitude for the gifts of love that we have been given in our lives. To experience the dimension of utter darkness and horror…and then to realize the gift and light of love that are embedded in our Beings brings such a depth of gratitude that I don’t think I could have realized/felt in any other way!

Meditation is not the problem! Opening the Spiritual Eye/third eye is not the problem! I do understand though, how one might construe the practice of meditation and the opening of the third eye as the cause of such horrific experiences and visions.

To me, it would be such a sad loss of spiritual opportunity to shut down the spiritual eye out of fear of the darker realms. But again, I do understand why one would want to do so. There is a kind of security in the “bandwidth” of our familiar human dimension. The realms that open up through the spiritual eye are unfamiliar and in the beginning we just do not know of to navigate through the darker realms.

Just a little bit of experience in these unfamiliar dimensions is all that is necessary to move past these unwanted intrusions. Learning seems to happen quickly, to not dally or focus upon the dark.

Again, in the higher realms, the intrusions cease. Spiders, demons, scenes of torture, getting jumped on and tortured, etc….these seem to be last gasp efforts of the satanic forces to keep us from entering the higher realms, which is SOOO close when the spiritual eye is opened.

In the higher realms, the actual Divine Christ Light/Consciousness, the Divine Mother/Father is infinitely and sublimely beyond what we can ever imagine when in the density of our rational, human, egoic consciousness!

Spirit Guides, Animal Totems – Are They Real?

img_0025

Spirit guides, Animal Totems, I think they’re all imaginary, but that’s not to say that the objects of the imagination are not “real.” They’re just vibrating at different frequencies, perhaps not within the “bandwidth” that our bodies reside in nor within the range of our normal waking state.

In this way of thinking, all thoughts and objects of our imagination can be thought of as “real” from an energetic perspective. I guess the important consideration is whether or not they have the power and consciousness to uplift and help us…I certainly know from my own experience that certain thoughts have the power to hurt/harm.

For example, if I relive a memory of a past hurt, be it physical or emotional, I can feel the unpleasantness and hurt in my body and emotions as long as I hold onto the memories. It makes sense to not hold onto such memories. However, it’s not so easy to tell myself, “Stop the memories! Stop thinking about what happened years ago!”

Also, perhaps you know how trauma can get so embedded in the body and psyche they seem to assume a life of their own in the body/mind…long after the initial traumatizing event!

Back to the question, “Are Spirit Guides and Animal Totems real?” To me the question is a little “off-mark” because it can get as messy and convoluted as the question, “What is Truth?” …which to me is not as interesting as, “What is true to me…and what is true to you?”Or, in another way, “What is real to me…and what is real to you?

We can bring in the words of science and/or the words of scripture to support or even be the gatekeepers for what we believe to be true and real for us…but I think, for me, it comes down to the question, “Is it real for me?” In the sense of “Does it uplift/help, or hurt/harm?”

Are Spirit Guides and Animal Totems/Spirits real to me? Have they helped me? Yes and yes! But I suppose their “realness” may not be as important so long as I feel guided and protected by their presence in my life.

If there ever comes a time when I no longer feel their help and presence in my life, then I can imagine that their “realness” to me will also fade away.

Dance of Well Being, Part 2

IMG_0023

Focusing the mind upon subtle body sensations can be a way of quieting the mind, an easy way of focusing the attention. When placing the mind upon the overall resonance of sensations, the feelings can be resolved into a kind of “ball of vibration” that can be squeezed, pushed and pulled through the body, that effortlessly attracts the attention and focuses the mind.

This is experienced as a delicate dance of exquisite sensations balanced upon the pinpoint of the mind’s attention.

What holds the attention? Bliss…

What is meant by the “ball of vibration?” It is the sum total, the overall resonance of all that is felt in the moment. Sensations include all vibrations coming in through the physical senses and may include smells, tastes, sounds, sights, etc.

The main ingredient here is in connecting with the underlying sensation that has a “feel good” aspect and that imparts a feeling of well being. This particular vibratory “ingredient” is the secret sauce without which the above is just another technique that cannot take you very deep.

The very feeling/sensation of well being, of bliss, is the prompt that can take you to deepest levels of the awareness of Being!

Meditation “Practice”

IMG_0372

I’m familiar—as most people are—with the emotional states of sadness, grief, joy, anger, etc. The wide emotional range of what it means to be human. Take joy for example. If we follow the sensations that move through the body, it seems to trigger a smile response upon our face, which also has a sensation. Now, when tuning into the sensation/vibration of joy in the body, the mind’s attention can easily follow and “attune” to the vibration. It offers a natural way of focusing the mind, relaxing the tight and distracted mind.

The body has the sensitivity to feel deeply and in this sensitivity to vibration, we can learn to use any feeling/sensation to go deeply into the body, to attune the mind—in resonance—with exquisitely fine sensations. What value does this have?

For one thing, it is a natural and simple way of focusing the mind, a way of releasing thought loops of worries and anxieties. Also, when the attention is focused upon sensations in the body, the natural pathway of attention, of mind, seems to be towards finer and more subtle vibration… and it is in this subtlety that the connection to the Bliss Resonance can be established.

I find it interesting that in all my years of meditation “practice,” my attachment (and rigidity) to doing technique “correctly” served as a mental barrier that would ensure my eternal inability to connect with the fine bliss sensations in the spine that the gurus spoke about.

In releasing the mental constructs of meditation and allowing myself to simply feel and follow the inner prompts of sensations, wherever they started (joyful, sad, angry, scary, etc.), I found that all feelings/sensations are connected to a deeply vast resonance that has an ecstatically “feel good” component.

It is a matter of getting past our inner gatekeeper, the thoughts/beliefs/assumptions we have regarding God, spirituality, techniques.

To be continued

Mindfulness Practice

Something I’ve been noticing about the “practice” of mindfulness. In the past, for the most part, it remained a haphazard, unfocused “practice” that sounded like a good thing to do from a “spiritual” perspective. It therefore had very little impact, depth or benefit in my life. It just wasn’t happening for me, regardless of my intention and hours of “practice.”

However, when connecting with the subtle sensations of feelings, emotions, etc. and especially the delicate bliss resonance in the spine, mindfulness just happens. The experience of the bliss resonance has a way of automatically fine-tuning the attention. It prompts the mind’s focus to go inwardly towards its fine vibration…because it feels so ecstatically good! Very little effort or act of will is required once the nervous system and mind has become acquainted with the subtle sensation…because it feels so good!

The same can be said of my “practice” of meditation technique. Years of practice with no real depth of connection with what the gurus spoke about. In connecting with the delicate and subtle bliss sensation, the “feel good juice,” mojo that can be easily tapped into, then deep meditation happens automatically… and technique falls away, as the bliss vibration guides the energy to move in a certain way through the body, especially the spine.

As I said, it can be easily tapped into. How is it that it can be missed for a lifetime(s)? In the same way that we miss the activating undercurrents of joy just before a smile. In the same way that we miss the delicate overtones of a beautiful voice.

It is not difficult to tap into the Bliss Resonance in the body. It just requires an openness to follow feelings, emotions, sensations (even the ones we’d rather not look at).

For those who wish a deeper dive and connection with the Bliss Resonance, feel free to contact me for a free phone consult. Whether we decide that we are a good fit to work together (or not), you will get much benefit.
