In the simple noticing and feeling into the overall sensation of Being, the mind can be understood to be like a machine or computer that can be programmed to move into deep trance states, where fine/subtle vibrations can be accessed.
This focus on subtlety has a way of drawing the mind deeply within. Using certain thoughts, prayers, songs, sounds, rhythm, etc., will put the mind into trance, where it is then fairly easy to observe the mind going on by itself, repeating the prayers over and over in the background of the mind.
In this kind of noticing, the overall sensation of the body/mind/psyche can be felt as “One Resonance of Being.” From this simple “noticing of Being,” there can also be an observing of thoughts percolating up from the unconscious. This is very subtle, as what comes up from the unconscious is, by definition, outside our normal waking consciousness.
How does our unconscious communicate with us? Oftentimes in dreams, through archetypes, through synchronicities, etc. Now, if you want more consistent access to the unconscious during times of meditation or when doing creative work, then the practice of tuning into, feeling into finer and finer nuances of sensations will help.
This can be done during periods of meditation or while at a coffee shop…or even standing in line at the market! At some point in the process of “observing,” there is a noticing of an inner resonance, a kind of background/underground vibration, that subtly moves the body into certain postures…and that ultimately “contorts” the body. This sensation of contortion also has a way of “gripping” the mind, holding the current of Life Force that draws the attention deeply within, upon “One Resonance of Being!”

If ever you find the mind jumping around restlessly, or dwelling painfully on past events, it’s very simple to just take a deep breath, relax and stop the movements of both body and eyes. When the eyes are perfectly still, the body and mind naturally tend to calm down and come to a point of stillness. Try this whenever you feel restless. With stillness of body and eyes, the breath and heartbeat naturally slow down and the thoughts can be experienced as though you are just observing them.
During these precious moments of quiet and stillness, it is easy to just be, to observe and allow “Presence” to unfold without attachment or story. Allow and open! Relax and listen on the inside. The energy of Presence will then flow of itself. Can you see how it works? All sounds and voices, inner and outer merge into the symphony of what is and what wishes to express. Listen to and feel all that lingers in the background ambiance of your mind without attachment or grasping!
Enter at will the trance state, the state of great peace. It just requires a slowing down of your thoughts–of your brainwaves. This is easily accomplished by keeping the eyes perfectly still as you quietly sit. Be aware, watch on the inside as you go deeper and deeper into silence and peace. As you relax, the body settles down and you begin to feel a connection with a bubbling kind of joy, a subtle (at first) feeling that has an inner pleasurable sensation that may seem to be located near the heart. As you allow yourself to observe with detachment, the feeling may grow…or it may just naturally go away. At any rate, the experience is an inner call to go deeper still, to follow the trail of the Great Spirit within.
From the state of trance, you can ask anything you wish from Spirit. Ask with the full knowing that your prayers are being heard and that the Universe responds to the ripples of intentions you send out. When you feel the vibrations of joy coursing through your body and mind, the power of your prayers are being answered. The field of your joy sends out pulses of energy that creates the resonance of what you ask for. Stay in that joy for as long as possible.
If all that you can feel is sadness and despair, use the energy of what you feel to propel your prayers forward. Just feel without the debilitating thoughts that keep the mind locked in its jail of suffering. Relax and breathe into the body and allow any feelings of stuckness to move on. Fear and despair cause energy and thoughts to get stuck in the body, and the ensuing blockage and tightness causes untold physical and mental pain.
Open the pathways within yourself that connect with the source of creative energy. Open the pathways that lead within. The more you relax and allow, the wider the channel of awareness grows.
