The “resonance of being” is a visceral experience of all that is felt in the moment, a gentle vibration or “humming” of the body. The mind may not give much value or consideration to this familiar and what it might consider a “ho-hum, no-big-deal” experience.
The mind gets locked into routines of the day, into familiar patterns of thinking, familiar patterns of behaviors…and so it resists going outside the patterns and norms of its default habits.
This is why it is important to “go deep quickly,” to bypass all the “mind-talk” that can distract us from connecting with what is just underneath, adjacent to what we “feel” in the moment.
Feel quickly for the “hum” of your body…and while holding the intention to go slightly deeper, notice and acknowledge the inward focusing mind, how it can be quieted, even for fractions of a second.
In that “fraction of a second” there can also be a noticing of a “feel-good” sensation, very subtle at first, but distinct. This is the opening to go deeper!
As you “hold” to the very subtle feel-good sensations, you will begin to sense the presence of a most delicious vibration that I refer to as the “contortion.” It is felt in what seems to be in the spine, but it can also be thought of as in our “center,” “central core,” etc.
It is so very subtle at first, but if you let yourself feel into its vibration, even for a few moments, those fleeting moments can be your “aha!” opening when you recognize what you are connected to and which can be what initiates deeper connection!
Timewise, what does this look like? This happens very quickly…if not, the mind can get distracted in a thousand distractions, so it is important to connect quickly, to relax, to feel and surrender to the overall sensation of the body. Also, it is important to keep the eyes still and to hold the intention to feel into finer and more subtle sensations.
The contortion: This is a particular sensation that becomes more and more evident as you feel into subtlety. At first, the sensation can be identified/labeled as a kind of “giddiness.”
As you tune into this sensation, going deeper and deeper, a different quality of sensation begins to reveal itself. I refer to it as the “contortion” of the Bliss Resonance.
When connected with the contortion, it is then easy to keep the mind focused, as body, mind and psyche are held in the powerful current of the Bliss Resonance. The body may physically move and contort as it automatically adjusts and makes room for the buildup and increased flow of the life force.
The contortion, also referred to as “Kundalini,” is a most delicious and ravishing sensation that moves so delicately and at times powerfully in the spine.
It is also a most unusual sensation because, although there is a physical aspect involved (feelings of giddiness), there is a paradoxical aspect…that feeling into progressively subtle sensations can also be an overwhelmingly blissful experience at the same time!
