Connecting With the Bliss Resonance, Part II

When feeling into the overall vibration of the body—with the intention of tuning into finer and finer sensations—the underlying reverberations of the Life Force (energy in the body) can be experienced as a gently vibrating background “hum.”

The mind normally does not pay much attention to this, even during periods of meditation practice. Moreover, even when we consciously hold the intention to feel into subtle sensations, the mind may think, “So what? What’s the big deal?”

The “big deal” here is that if you dismiss these seemingly insignificant subtle sensations, you close down an avenue of approach that can lead to sublimely exquisite experiences of the Bliss Resonance!

This is not a difficult process! It is similar to what happens when you listen to beautiful music…music so beautiful that it “hurts.” If you are able to apprehend this sentiment, then you can use this to go deeper and deeper into subtle sensations.

For example, as you listen to any special music that touches you deeply, the idea is to focus upon the feelings that arise in the body (and especially in the spine) as you surrender to the beauty of the music. The important point here is to “capture” or focus upon the most subtle sensations.

You will notice that the beauty of the music that touches you profoundly has a deeply sourced sensation that can be tuned into, focused upon…captured! It is also important to notice that as you feel into the subtle sensations, how the body will begin to automatically move in response to the sensations. It will move in ways that allows for wider and greater flow of the blissful resonance!

There are innumerable entry points and approaches for connecting with the Bliss Resonance: using vocal overtones is a powerful one which I use extensively in my “play” with subtlety. Using the vibrations of the voice to produce “overtones” can be used to feel into the finest of sensations in the body and especially inside the spine!

Dance of micro-movements is another favorite approach that I use. Other approaches can work just as fine, such as through the enjoyment of delicate fragrances, exploring the nuances of yoga asanas, playing the guitar (or any other instrument), losing oneself in artistic creation, writing, etc.

The important point here is to find the entry point that works for you and then to fine tune your connection with the scintillating currents of Life Force that move ever-so-subtly in your body and spine!

Connecting With the Bliss Resonance, Part I

The resonance of the body (its overall physical vibration), holds the mind in patterns that it has grown accustomed to. These familiar, habitual patterns become the day-to-day “reality” that—over time—becomes like an old window that we can no longer see beyond  narrow constraints of the “house” that we’ve lived in for so long.

A body that is filled with toxins will reflect the vibration of illness in body and mind. If you wish to shift to a higher level of power and capacity, to attract the resources, knowledge and wisdom that make for a more fulfilling life, then the prime directive would be to change your frequency range to a finer resonance that is in tune with the wider and more powerful current (Life Force).

As you begin vibrating at a higher frequency, you also begin to shake up and release the “sediment” of heavy/dark energies…and this may feel like a “detox.” The body seems to require extra time to “catch up” with the higher vibrating frequencies of Spirit…and so it is important to keep the body in good condition (healthy, high vibration foods, exercise, etc.).

The body can also be thought of as a kind of battery and/or pump that is able to store and move energy. Another important capability of the body is that it can refine and distill energy…and with refined energy comes the birth of spiritual vision, connection with Divine purpose and the expression of the unique gifts you are meant to share on Planet Earth.

In the beginning it is enough to “capture” the fleeting moments, the “split seconds” of noticing the sensations of the underlying “hum” of the body. Also, because the sensations are so subtle, there can be a tendency to dismiss or discount them. However, by paying attention, by noticing and acknowledging the subtle “feel-good” sensations (if even for a fraction of a second), you might also come to feel its connection with the wider field or current that can be felt as the underlying “hum” of the body.

These fleeting, “flash-in-the-pan” moments of noticing subtle sensations is oftentimes coupled with split second periods of “no-thought”…as deep attention to subtle vibrations creates little gaps in thinking. This is significant insofar as this experience creates the inner acknowledgement that you have the capacity to consciously and intentionally feel into finer and finer vibrations.

Knowing that you have the capacity to tune into subtlety may not necessarily be a “big bang,” transformational experience of Divine Awakening. Paradoxically however, the experience is hugely significant because it represents a transformative shift in your relationship with Life Force and sense of Self. It signifies your entry point into the Divine Subtlety and connection with the Bliss Resonance!

Focusing Mind for Deeper Meditation, Part XI

When we enjoy an activity, such as dance, or playing the guitar, our minds can become very focused, usually around the enjoyment of the activity. For purposes of focusing the mind during meditation, the approach I use is in following sensations deeper and deeper into subtlety.

This simple practice has a way of showing different perspectives of mind, one that is connected to superficial, habitual thought patterns of our day-to-day lives and one that is connected to subtle sensations of the body.

The mind that is connected with subtlety is able to observe the superficial mind without getting stuck in the distractions that roil on the surface of mind. Having this reference point, the experience of observing the mind doing its “thing” of bouncing around from one distraction to another allows a very different perspective of the mind.

Normally we get caught up, lost in the habitual patterns of our day-to-day lives…and we lose touch with the deeper aspects of consciousness that are connected with the inward flowing currents of subtle vibrations.

To be able to calmly witness the superficial mind in motion, without getting caught up in endless thought loops, requires a perspective of watching from a center-point that has a different feel and texture than our normal waking mind.

This “center-point” of awareness seems to be an experience of feeling all sensations as one resonance…and quite surprisingly (at least to me), the day-to-day, stuck-in-the-drama, familiar mind, also gets absorbed into the overall sensation!

Another way of explaining this: When we endeavor in our meditations to feel into sensations as widely and as deeply as possible, the feeling experience brings our attention to the moment, as feelings can only be experienced in the moment. Our “surface” mind then may continue its patterns of thinking, but our perspective as viewed from the “center point” will be as from a great distance.

As you begin to tune into subtle sensations, another aspect of mind surfaces: the Observer. The experience of the overall sensation can be resolved to a center point of awareness. This awareness is the Observer, around which all vibrations and distractions revolve around.

If the above sounds all too complicated, think in terms of how it is when you surrender yourself totally to the enjoyment of dance, or when listening to music that is so beautiful that it “hurts.”

The suggestion here is to follow the sensations of what you enjoy to finer and finer reverberations. At a certain point you will find your mind embedded, riveted to the finest pulsations of the underlying “grid” of scintillating sensations!

Focusing Mind for Deeper Meditations, Part I

Wherever you are, in whatever circumstance, let the mind focus quickly within, not waiting for the meditation environment to be perfect. It is helpful to keep the eyes relaxed, quiet, still, in soft focus (if you keep the eyes open or half-closed).

Notice that as you focus the mind inwardly and feel into the area of the eyes, there may be a natural uplift of the eyes in the eye sockets.

There is a subtle point being made here: with too much will/intention to keep the eyes focused at the point between the eyebrows (spiritual eye), as suggested in many meditation techniques, there can be a greater possibility of giving ourselves a headache…at least this was the case for me.

In trying to concentrate my attention at the spiritual eye area, I found myself unwittingly using too much energy and will, resulting in headaches.

I discovered that by by the simple intention to keep the eyes still, relaxed, with intention/prayer to focus upon the overall sensation of the body and spine, the eyes would naturally and automatically be drawn upwards, allowing deeper and deeper attunement with the subtleties of the Life Force, and ultimately with the Bliss Resonance.

The sensation of the uplifting/rising Life Force/Kundalini can be experienced initially by feeling into the meditation posture of the erect spine…but with a slightly exaggerated lifting up and straightening of the spine.

The “trick” is in feeling into the subtlety of the overall sensation. What happens is that as the mind focuses on the subtlety of vibration in the body, a feeling of giddiness may arise, as the energy in the spine builds up to a point of overflow.

The body will adjust to the giddiness naturally, in slight “micro-movements”…if we allow ourselves to relax and surrender to the process, which then becomes a beautiful dance of fine movements. The body will also take up certain postures naturally and automatically.

Outwardly, these fine movements and postures may outwardly appear as a kind of isotonic and isometric contraction/relaxation exercise.

However, what happens inwardly cannot be seen, as the movements are so very subtle…affected by the rise and fall of infinitely fine energetic currents as can be felt in the spine.

An important point to consider here is that the micro movements and postures are guided by how the Life Force/Kundalini wishes to move/dance in the body.

The process is not difficult and does not require strict mental/physical discipline…at least not in the way one might think. Connecting with the Bliss Resonance requires only an intention/prayer to feel where we are in the moment…and then feeling slightly deeper…and then deeper, etc.

Do you understand what is being offered here? The mind might resist the simplicity of this approach, unable to countenance how very close it is to what the soul longs for: the Bliss Resonance!

Alas, for want of feeling just beneath the surface of sensations, what is so very close and accessible (Bliss) remains interminably beyond reach!

Again, do not tarry on the surface of mind! Go deep quickly, relax and feel! The mind will continue to “bounce” around and that’s totally ok. What is important is noticing the fleeting moments, even if for a fraction of a second, when the mind is still, not entertaining memories, desires, distractions, etc.

In noticing those fleeting moments of “no-thought” you then have reference points, entryways into connecting ever-deeper with the subtleties of the Life Force.

Understand the enormity of what previously may have seemed like a “non-event.” Tuning into that “fraction of a second” of finer and finer vibrations/sensations means a vastly different relationship with Life Force…and with sense of Self!

No matter how fleeting the experience of connecting with subtlety is, a permanent entryway is created, to go deeper into subtlety…as well as for longer periods! This “permanent” entryway is simply the feeling experience, the overall sensation/resonance of the moment, as felt in the central core of the body.

When the focus is on subtle sensation, there can be a noticing of how the mind can be, in a sense, “captured” or “held” in place (one-pointed concentration), by the “current” of Life Force.

Here’s what happens: as the mind focuses on the subtle sensations and begins to go deeper, layer by layer, the visceral experience of subtle vibrations creates a kind of “giddiness” in the body (especially the spine). This giddiness can be felt as a “current” or “flow” of energy that is strong enough to “capture” the mind, to “hold” it in one place.

Manifesting Abundance – Condensing Energy into Physical Manifestation

How can I coalesce energy into physical manifestation?

All that you experience in the world is a condensation of energy. It is all an energetic sea of consciousness. The relative vibration of your environment, which includes all of your perceptions and beliefs about lack and limitation, is kept in motion by the thoughts and mindset you habitually hold onto.

The mind normally coasts along in a dream zone that maintains certain thoughts and beliefs. It does so out of habit. If you desire to break out of the straight jacket of narrowness, all that is necessary is to drop identification with the egoic mind, but of course, this is a tricky thing to do, as all of humanity and the fiery dramas through history has shown.

The consciousness of the stream of thoughts and the sense of “I-ness” that you entertain in relation to thoughts and desires is an ongoing dream identity that has fairly narrow and strict parameters as far as what is required or desired by the body and ego identity.

The desires of ego are like barbs that thrash you because you do not yet know how to effectively use thoughts and feelings to drop into the frequencies of Spirit, which is unlimited and all-abundant.

The energy of abundance is all around you. The imprint of this frequency can be felt now and there are infinite ways to do this. It can start with imagination, thoughts, or affirmations, but the most important aspect is to feel the vibration of that power, and then to merge into that consciousness, into that river of feeling.

Use the power of rhythm and sound to create the energetic sculpture of abundance that is born through vibration. This “sculpture” may take on many different forms and can instruct you regarding the consciousness of wealth.

Use activities that you enjoy doing as a way to generate momentum and magnetism. For example, your love of playing or listening to music can be used as a way to take you into deep states of focused and relaxed concentration wherein you are close to the creative energies.

Use the power of relaxed concentration! All that you wish for in life is so close at hand if you would use the precious gifts that are already yours. Go to the center of Being and observe thoughts as they come and go. Soon you will realize the Grand Observer behind all that you behold and experience.

Release your worries! Energy can be converted into whatever you focus your attention upon – even money – when you open up to what is freely given. Your power has its foundation in the bedrock of Being! Fall to your center. Feel the movement of energy within. Listen and expand your awareness to receive now!

Struggle happens only when you lose yourself to the dreams of limitation. From the consciousness of Being, from the power of Presence, create and manifest everyday so that what now seems impossible or too difficult to do becomes your natural state of Being!
