Sometimes, due to the mere non-consideration of subtle sensations—available to anyone—we miss an important entryway to inner realms of sublime beauty. The mind has ways of engaging in its narrow “square foot” of what it has grown accustomed to and considers “normal.”
These mind-patterns of engagement with the world act as “gatekeepers” that keep the mind in busy-ness with desires, whims and “making a living.” Even with those who seek “spiritual” connection, the mind can more often than not remain as though held captive by a certain frequency range that keeps the attention on peripheral distractions.
The mind, caught in the choppy thought and desire-waves of engagements, may not even consider feeling into subtle sensations. It may even have an attitude of “What’s the big deal with subtle sensations?”
Even with years of practicing meditation techniques, the mind may still resist feeling into what is just underneath the overall sensation of the body…because there can be an expectation with the practice of meditation technique that some deep awakening will occur…and so we wait and listen intently…without feeling.
When chanting Om and deeply feeling into its resonance, there are infinite subtleties of vibrations/sensations that roll through the spine and the rest of the body.
